Pre-Procedure Instructions for Cardiovascular Catheterization
- Report to Pauahi Wing 3rd Floor (see Map)
- DO not eat anything 8 hours prior to your procedure time.
- No smoking for 8 hours prior to procedure, this is also recommended for after procedure. Smoking will not be allowed in the room.
- Ask your physician if you should take your regular medication(s) on the day of the procedure, i.e., cardiac, blood pressure, or diabetic pills.
- You will not be allowed to drive after your procedure, please make plans for some to accompany you home.
- Do not forget any forms that you were instructed to bring to hospital by your doctor's office.
- Notify your cardiologist is any changes occurs in your health condition (such as fever, sore throat, cold symptoms, etc.) because we may have to reschedule your procedure.
- Wear comfortable clothing and slippers/shoes to the hospital on the day of your procedure. Hospital appeal will be provided.
- Do not bring any valuables with you to the hospital
- Bring a list of your medications that you are presently taking with you to the hospital.
